The intersection at Munroe and Division Street (at the Mid-Town mall/No Frills corner) is being re-designed. This is of interest to Cobourg residents.
Munroe Street is not planned to be re-aligned due to significant legal, financial and design implications associated with this option. Rather, the proposal includes modifying the intersection back to its original “T” design, with Park Street retrofitted to become a “right-in/right-out only” road at Division. The western driveway into the Mall is to be closed and re-located eastward to avoid conflicts and increased vehicle stacking on Munroe Street. Pedestrian crossings will be located at the “T”, as per traditional intersections. (Glenn McClashon via the Burd Report)

Cobourg Zellers
The Cobourg location of Zellers is not among the 181 acquired by U.S. retailer Target. It will continue "business as usual" into the first quarter of 2012, says spokesperson Tiffany Bourre, when the Hudson's Bay Company will announce its strategy for the remaining 84 stores.
